Clemen Pons Mandarins
It originated from a spontaneous mutation of the Nules clementine detected around 1968 in Pego (Alicante). It holds a plant variety title (patent). The tree is very productive and similar to the Nules clementine, although it is likely that it does not reach the same size, so somewhat narrower planting frames are recommended; like the clemenules, it can also have several blooms
As happens with some clementine varieties, a thickening can develop at the base of the graft in which there is a large number of dormant buds that may sprout, so it is highly advisable to remove the shoots as early as possible to prevent the thickening, which could cause disorders in the tree's growth.
The characteristics of the fruit are similar to those of the Nules clementine, but it can be harvested much earlier, although a few days after the Marisol.
